POLYETHYLENE FUEL TANK 1973-78 FJ40/45
The ploy fuel tank is an easy bolt in replacement. The current list price from Toyota for the steel fuel tank is $280.00. Way too much for a fuel tank with a comparatively short life because of humidy and rust. The poly tank will not rust and it has no seams to crack and leak with age. This is virtually a lifetime tank no matter what the humidity conditions are where you live. Everyone knows that a fuel tank that is not kept full of fuel will rust overnight with warm and cool weather changes. This is not possible with the new poly tank. A direct replacement fitting the 7209-7812 FJ40. Will fit earlier models but requires extensive filler neck modifications.
